Blog 2: My opinions
What is your opinion about buying and not adopting pets?
Buying instead of adopting can irresponsibly increase overpopulation without considering the well-being of animals, leading to consequences such as abuse and the overexploitation of certain breeds. Adopting, on the other hand, gives many animals in need a new chance at a home and contributes to social welfare. Adoption will always be the most supportive, compassionate, and heartfelt option.
What is your opinion about animal testing?
Animal testing is a complex issue since it has enabled important medical advances, but at the same time, it involves suffering and the exploitation of innocent animals. Today, there are more ethical alternatives, such as cell cultures or computer simulations. Moving toward them is essential to reduce animal pain and promote more responsible science that takes into account those living beings who cannot express their pain through words.
What is your opinion about cloning?
Cloning is a controversial topic, as it offers valuable medical and scientific possibilities, such as tissue regeneration or the conservation of endangered species, providing solutions in both health and biodiversity, which makes it a very powerful tool for science. However, it can also generate social and mostly ethical risks, so it must be supervised and ensured that it is used for the benefit of society and not for selfish profit.
Hi Josefa, I totally agree with you on everything. I love that you're as considerate and empathetic toward animals as i am! They also deserve opportunities, and it helps us reflect on our decisions.
